Born of Obsession
In 2004, Lee Dalby started the development of a valve preamplifier of unequalled measure. This, in the first instance, was for personal use having become dissatisfied with what was commercially available.
Dalby Audio Design then embarked on a 7 year research programme exploring components and materials that could meet the exact requirements for our preamplifiers. After extensive development and fine tuning, the D7 series valve amplification was born to satisfy the demand of those who heard it. The result was a preamplifier peerless in sound quality.
Dalby Audio Design's philosophy is simple, yet our obsession with detail has led us to create one of the finest valve amplification systems available today. We avoid audiophile trends and refuse to use technologies that don’t reward in a musical way. Our loyalty is to music not hifi, so we are driven by the emotional content of the recording and only use components and materials that enhance this feeling.
2012 will see the availability of the partnering D7-211SE mono valve amplifiers, along with specially designed interconnects, power cables, isolation feet and modular equipment supports.
